Privacy Policy

Overview
That’s Nuts! does not require an account, display advertising, sell personal information, or use third-party advertising trackers. The app processes only the information needed to provide barcode lookup, ingredient review, allergy-profile, and history features.
Information you provide
When you check a product, the app sends the barcode or ingredient text to the That’s Nuts! service. If you select allergy-profile options, those selections are sent with a check so the result can be tailored. This information is retained in service scan-history records to operate and improve product matching. The app does not require your name, email address, phone number, or account identifier.
Camera and on-device information
Camera access is used to recognize UPC and EAN barcodes. Camera frames are processed for barcode recognition and are not uploaded by the iPhone app. Allergy-profile preferences are also stored on your device so they remain selected between uses. You can revoke camera access in iOS Settings or delete the app to remove its locally stored preferences, subject to Apple’s device and backup behavior.
Service providers and product data
The service may request product names, ingredient lists, and product images from Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts. Hosting and network providers may process IP addresses, request metadata, and operational logs as necessary to deliver and secure the service. These providers operate under their own privacy terms.
Analytics, advertising, and sharing
The iPhone app does not include an advertising SDK or cross-app tracking technology. Information is not sold. It is shared only with service providers as necessary to deliver the features described above, comply with law, or protect the service from abuse.
Retention and security
Barcode checks, submitted ingredient text, result details, and any allergy-profile selections sent with a check may be retained in the service database. Encrypted HTTPS connections and reasonable administrative safeguards are used to protect requests. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
That’s Nuts! is a general-audience informational app and is not directed to children for the purpose of collecting personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or advertising system.
Your choices and contact
You may use manual entry instead of the camera, leave all allergy-profile options unselected, revoke camera permission, or delete the app. For questions or a request concerning retained information, email keithggauvin@gmail.com or call 603-244-0888. Because the app does not use accounts or persistent user identifiers, it may not be possible to identify a specific service record as yours.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated as That’s Nuts! changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
